A big "YAY" all around!

Today the Kindergarteners, Grade 1 & 2s were gifted a book of their choice from the book fair, courtesy of the Parent Association. (5/6s and 3/4s were "done" at the two prior book fairs this year)
It's always fun seeing kids get excited about new treasures, but what I'm excited about is that by buying them each a book - 50% of that money goes back to our school! It's really a win-win-win initiative! The PSPA gets to feel good giving a little special something to our students... our students get another opportunity to foster their love of reading... and our school gets a generous kickback!
The book fair will still be running tomorrow am during conferences, and students are encouraged to come in and enter their name for a draw for $25.00 to be used at the book fair. (No purchase necessary) And again! 50% of book fair sales goes to our school! ~ Happy Spring Break!

P/T Conferences + Spring Break

Wednesday 1 March 2017

SCHOOL COUNCIL WORKSHOP - MARCH 13 6-9pm

If you intend to attend this workshop, please RSVP so the appropriate amount of food can be ordered!!

Thank you!
The PSPA (Pineridge School Parent Association) has a fun lunch scheduled on March 16th (Subway) - However, in order to run this Fun Lunch, we must have 1 volunteer per classroom to assist with handing out the orders. (11 volunteers total)

Parents helping can bring in younger children, so long as they are easily managed (can sit with a coloring book off to the side without causing disruption).

We need to know by this Friday (March 3rd) if we will have enough volunteers able to run this fun lunch, otherwise it will have to be cancelled.  IF YOU ARE ABLE/WILLING TO VOLUNTEER ON MARCH 16TH FROM 11:30-12:30PM, AND HAVE COMPLETED YOUR SCHOOL SECURITY CHECK, COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. (Call the school, and leave a message for School Council ~ 403.777.6750 (Ext 4))

Thank-you so much!

Happy Wednesday!
Karen MacKinnon (PSPA Chairperson)

Oh man, I just took my (first) turn changing out the letters for the front sign and feel the need to give a huge shout out to the parents who volunteer to do this. We have a group of parents who work on a rotation taking turns changing out the message each week... It takes way longer than you'd think. (as in it took me over an hour to do this!! - lol. Maybe I'll be faster next time)
Thanks again Volunteer Parents!
